I took the precaution of asking the stewardess on easyJet-(low cost
European) if it would be ok to switch on my gps receiver (SP3). She asked
what it was so I asked her to speak to the captain who would know what it
was. She came back and said "Captain O'Donnell says you may use the device,
but would you let him know if we go off course."
Next flight on bmibaby (another low cost European) I was told-on a flight
from UK to southern Spain, that it was illegal to video out of the window.
Queried it with the company but never received a reply.
