Just out of curiosity, do you read the old text in every post or do you
simply scroll down to the bottom looking for the new text knowing that
you've just read the old text in the previous post? Or do you just go to the
end of a series of posts and only read the last post so that reading the old
text in order is important?

I've always thought this was a dumb argument and never really paid that much
attention where people put their posts. Maybe I'm different than everyone
else but I read the posts of a thread in order so that when I go from one
post to the next I'm really just looking for the response to the previous
post I just read. I don't need to re-read the last post so I'm really just
looking for the new text. If it's at the top of the message then it makes it
easy to just read the new text then I'm on to the next thread. If it's at
the bottom, I don't re-read the old text, I scroll down to the bottom (or
middle) and look for the new text. Having the old text before the new stuff
did me absolutely no good. With the text at the top I can see the post in
the preview pane and I can just arrow through the posts and never have to
switch to the preview pane until I hit a bottom post and have to scroll to
the bottom.

I just don't buy this absurd notion that it has to be posted at the bottom
because that's the way we read. If you re-read the old text every time then
I guess I'd buy it, but since most people just skip past the old text it
only makes sense that the new text should be as accessible as possible to
more quickly get through a thread.

Isn't it funny how bottom posting people are the only ones that ever raise a
stink about this? Post however you want.
