What that glare complaint disguises is what I consider to be the biggest
problem with he TomTom GO, that you NEED to see the screen for navigation.
That is not an issue if you are accompanied by a passenger who can read
the screen and assist, but I find it downright dangerous when a driver is
navigating themself.

The unit does give timely voice warnings when approaching turns and
junctions but the voice directions are very poor and often directly wrong
when giving junction navigation instructions, such as "keep left" when
maybe the exact opposite is true.

The accurate detailed junction turn directions (except for roundabout
rotary junctions when they are quite adequate) are only given on the
screen in coloured markings on the 3-D images of the roads. And even then
the screen does not give the most obvious information needed by the driver
of exactly which road sign markings to follow, unlike say the Garmin which
is excellent in this respect.

I have seen some advanced screen shots of Version 5 and it appears that
what I find to be this major deficiency has been very greatly improved,
but I haven't yet seen the real thing.

I have driven with the TomTom GO in Europe and the USA and, mainly in view
of some promised improvements in Version 5, I would buy it again.
