Well, I spoke to Garmin TS today about my lockups with the Legend C using
City Select (see above). After a nice half-hour wait (where the robo-voice
kept telling me that "the best time to call is in the morning"-- gee, what
time is it at Garmin when it is 9 AM for me?), I explained the problem to a
tech. Nice enough, but said he said he'd never hard of a problem like mine
before. But, after a quick minute on hold (apparently checking with someone
else) he cam back and said the only time they'd heard if this was when there
was interference from something else, like a transmitter.
Ordinarily I'd cry "BS!" to an answer like this (a normal reaction given my
Earthlink DSL Tech Support experiences), but my problem does occur right
where I drive past the airport, so maybe it's plausible. Anyway, I'll check
it out sometime when the airport ceases flight ops at night, just to see if
it behaves differently.
