Our Prius (about 11 months old now) got 46mpg on the highway on our
last 75-mile trip to the beach. That was with 2 adults, 2 kids and
the back crammed with a weekend's worth of baggage and food.
Around town (on 2.5 mile commutes to and from work) it gets about
40 mpg---in moderate early spring conditions (temperatures in mid 40s).
All this is without benefit of the GPS navigation system. ;-)
The sticker numbers are a well-known artifact of the EPA testing
procedures.
