I've assembled from UNESCO's World Heritage Sites web pages a gpx file
of just about all the current sites; the file has it over 1300
entries. Some are missing: There are around 100 'sub' sites left out
that're missing coordinates, and I've left out 800 Spanish Rock
Painting sites (that I can assemble into another file if anyone would
like).
The 'name' field has the site's name (changed to 7-bit ASCII for
MapSource). Does anyone know the name for the accented characters, and
all the others with 'extra' symbols over/under them? Anyway, they're
represented in the 8-bit ASCII set. But MapSource wouldn't take any of
them, so the whole set has had their international characters reduced
(as best I could) to the plain english 7-bit set. ExpertGPS accepts
8-bit characters (but not yet the URLs (to the current XML schema)).
MapSource takes the URLs, but not 8-bit ASCII. So there.
The 'comment' field is UNESCO's serial number.
Each entry contains the URL back to UNESCO so you can easily get right
to a better description of the sites.
I've symbolized each entry this way:
Plain Waypoint: Main Site
White Point: Sub site to a Main Site (list by Comment field to get
them together).
Large Green Circle: Region (National Parks, Wild Life Refuges)
Grey Circle: A variety of smaller regions, like city centers, etc.
(My mind was getting fuzzy during this project; if you find any
glaring errors (or others) please let me know.)
The file:

The coordinates are collected from the web site (mostly); some are
fine-tuned using NASA's World Wind program or other sources. You'll
notice that some coordinates from UNESCO are very precise (sometimes
for a whole national park!) and some are pretty raw (sometimes for a
single building...). So each listing should be considered with that in
mind.
I hope you find it useful. Or interesting, at least!
