I've got a 76CS GPS (U.S.) and want to have some road map capability for a forthcoming trip to the U.K. The straightforward solution is City Select Europe, but I'd like to see what other options there are for less than its $300 price. I have a Palm Zire 31 PDA and an older Palm IIIxe which I used years ago for a similar trip. On that trip I was able to get some highway-level maps for the Palm, which I used with the Garmin II+ I had at the time. That was a big help, but I'd like to get local street level capability. I'll also have a laptop PC, but that can be cumbersome to use in a car. Price isn't a huge issue, but 300 bucks seems a bit steep for a trip of two or three weeks.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Roy Lewallen
Have a look at MetroGuide Europe, which is cheaper, but will only autoroute on a PC.
Thanks very much for the tip. On the Garmin site, I don't see the 76C or CS listed as compatible with MetroGuide Europe, and software listed as compatible with the 76CS include MetroGuide Canada but not MetroGuide Europe. Will Metroguide Europe work on the 76CS?
