The Map276c is a marine unit first with added street navigation features in
the same way the 296C is an aviation unit first. The 296C was designed
primarily as an aviation unit that you would double as a street navigator
when you got to your destination. The 276C is a marine unit with the same
concept in mind. If you doubt the 276C is primarily a marine unit then check
out its fishfinder capabilities. The Garmin proprietary card format is there
to support Garmin's pre-programmed bluechart cards. Since its a USB device
it only takes a few minutes to load additional street mapping to a separate
card to suit your target destination or local area.
