Might be the software you are using to download the files to the GPS. I have
been using the Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) program. It will let you
load one of several hundred waypoints or any combination thereof. It is one
of the best programs around for managing waypoints in different file
formats. http://www.gsak.net/ to download the program.
