Glen,
Thnak You very much for your explanation, it was very usefull to me. I
agree with you in that I do not want my PC in the desk all the times,
as it consumes so much power and it is a weak peace in a sailboat. I
use it only when not under way, mainly to create routes and upload to
the gps.
I agree with you 100% in regard the AIS; I am just curious about the
DSC application, I would not buy a VHF with NMEA IN/OUT only for it.
But I became a fan of AIS when I see it some weks ago in these foruns
and begin knowing what it is, and really, I will not buy another
gps/ploter unless it has the AIS function well implemnted.
