: Sure, it is more reliable, but is it a meaningful difference? Let's say
that
: the failure rate for CF cards is 0.1%, and for hard drives is 0.3 percent.
: Some folks might say the failure rate for hard drives is three times as
high

matter?

clear?

I have had my 2610 for just over a year now. I use a SanDisk 2Gig CF card
with all of the US on it. I have noticed here lately that it comes on and
does what this post started with a no maps found warning. I can turn the
unit off and on a couple of times and then it will work fine.
If I but the CF card in a card reader everything is there. I have even tried
a new card with the same effect. I loaded the card that was sent with the
unit same thing. I'm beginning to think it is firmware not the card. That
would be about right now that the warranty has run out but then again this
unit didn't work straight out of the box. I had to send it back for repair
because the dealer I bought it from wouldn't take it back. He said I had to
return it for repair.
You all know him he posts on here all the time.
