I have recently bought an iPaq rx3715, and am interested in Sat Nav as an additional extra. My question is, would I be able to download a program, ie TomTom Navigator 3, and install the software on to my PDA? That way I would only need to buy a GPS receiver. Am I being totally blind here, or is this a possibility?
I don't know about TomTom, but there are several that are sold with PDAs, and not available separately.
Which doesn't matter, there are more that ARE available separately. Depending, there are software-only options (no maps), some with optional maps, some sold with maps (no choice), some sold with GPS receivers, some not. Some you can edit the maps on easily, some not-so-easily, and some not at all. Some you add your own points of interest, some not, some are more flexible than others with regard to reporting of said points on approach. Some with good street/address databases, some with not, some optional. Some with autorouting, some not....
The choices are many and varied. It all comes down to what you need/want. -- Linux Registered User # 302622 <http://counter.li.org> .
