I use a Garmin suction mount. Generally it's OK but it does occasionally
fall off - say once in every couple of months or so. You can minimize the
frequency of failure by cleaning the screen well before fixing it and
pushing down hard on the fixing lever, with it raised up, as you place the
sucker against the screen in order to exclude as much air as possible -
particularly after it has been used for a while as it develops a permanent
dish in the middle.

I find that they are pretty hopeless if fitted according to the diagram on
the instruction *** - the receiver bounces up and down quite badly and
makes a difficult to read display almost impossible. However I fix mine
"upside down" and set it so the bottom of the receiver is resting on the
dashboard and then it is perfectly acceptable.
