Re: Streets & Trips - no USB GPS support help

Hi Pink,

I'm not familiar with the Garmin unit you are using, but:

1. Make sure the Garmin unit you have is capable of outputting GPS signal
when connected to a laptop computer. Some units may not provide this
capability, and the cable connection may be there just to load maps, etc,
from your computer.

2. If your Garmin unit is capable of outputting GPS signal, it should be
able to do so in NMEA standard (as opposed to just the Garmin protocol). If
NMEA standard is not supported by your Garmin unit many GPS navigation
software products may not be able to use it. (But there may be some software
solution to overcome this.)

3. You would also need a USB GPS driver for your Garmin unit to install on
your laptop so S&T and other software can be used.
