Hello,
I'm BRAND new to GPS, I want to have one in my car, and I found this newsgroup and http://gpsinformation.us while researching on the net.

I am a real estate investor, I rehab houses... so most of my days are spent driving around looking at properties. So a MUST feature for me is the multiple destination routing feature. I'm having trouble figuring out which models have this feature, although I think I've seen that the Magellan RM500/700 and the Garmin SP 2610/20/50/60 have this. I would like to be able to program multiple addresses into the GPS in my house or through my computer, and then take it to the car with me the next morning, ready to go. I am a 'technical-savvy' user, so ease of use isn't that big of a deal to me. I also want to be able to use the GPS for occasional out-of-state travelling, so I'm thinking that one with pre-loaded maps for the whole USA is important. I'm also in a HUGE hurry most of the time, sometimes when I find out about a house just on the market, I need to leave within 5 minutes to go see it, and get there as fast as possible. I also would like to occasionally like to use the GPS in my second car.

With these requirements in mind, which GPS will best suit ME?

Other thoughts I've had:

-Looks like the Magellan models have a built-in speaker and the Garmin models have the speaker on the power adaptor - is this an issue?
-I've read that the Magellan models will take up to 2 minutes or so to 'locate' you or the satellite, and the Garmin picks it up in a few seconds - is this true? is this an issue?
-What baout the Lowrance iWay500? I haven't seen as much on this model, but I like the built-in MP3 player. thoughts on this compared to the Garmin and the Magellan?

thanks a TON in advance for your help! -Eddie

My choice would be the 2610, with a 2GB CF card you can load the street level maps for the whole USA and Canada. It has good clear voice prompts, has a fast processor, has a nice sharp screen, you can enter a bunch of waypoints and the 2610 will figure the most efficient route to visit them all, it comes with a remote control that I thought I would never use but found I use it 100% of the time, and the list goes on.
