The most elegant way is connecting your 60 with the usb cable straight to
your laptop.
then go to http://franson.com/gpsgate/index.asp?ref=menu
here you find a prog. to convert usb-garminprotocol data stream from your 60
to NMEA-serialbus.
Its super: you can "connect" more programs at the same time on one gps.
therefor you use different virtual serial ports.
