Why bother?
A quick search turns out that an usb mouse is $50-70 only
Your S&T is $15
A USB-serial connection, even asssuming it works flawslessly, is in $40 range.
Not worth the hassle
You numbers don't crunch.
You can buy a serial to USB adapter for $15 or less on eBay. When you plug that in the system assigns it a COM port number because it is, after all, converting the USB port on the laptop to be a DB9-P serial port. Look in the Device Manager, a serial to USB adapter will show up as a new COM port.
Pinks says his software (I have the same software, he is right) wants serial port and, with the USB to serial adapter plugged in, there it is and his software can use it. Done deal.
Why would it be simpler for someone that already has a 60C to buy a $50-70 USB mouse style GPS receiver instead of a $15 (or less) serial to USB adapter?
