Re: my first GPS - suggestions?

For what you need, if you do have a notebook computer in your car, I
think you would be happier with one of the USB units for the computer.
I started out with an earthmate unit on the notebook. Ive worked my
way up through several hand held units, and I now have a 2610 in my
car, just for basic navigation in my car and on motorcycle. If I
really needed to do things like you're talking about, Id go right back
to the notebook and $100 USB. Even the high end GPS units cant compare
in features, ease of use, etc..
