If this is DeLorme's TopoUSA v5.0, Western Region, then it's an apples
to oranges comparison. TopoUSA v5.0 is *not* based directly on the
USGS 1:24000 quads and has considerably less topological detail. But
then you get half the country for $50 vs. NG's state series at $100 per
state. The DeLorme maps that are based on 1:24000 quads are those in
the 3D TopoQuad series. But those also cost $100/state (or portion of
state for some large states).
