As I was sweeping around, I thought it might even have to do with where
this satellite photo is centered, as if there were one correct point, and
then aberations from there, but I can't puzzle that out.
Looking at Lake Berryessa, 38.55,-122.20, I see the elvation stable at 440
feet, which is the listed height of the dam.
Clear Lake. 39.05,-122.84 is also "flat".
