Re: new Memory Map

I have just purchased a Memory-Map CD and have explored it, only to find

I was perhaps mistakenly expecting the portion of map to come across as
well.

I now see that on File > image export is greyed out, and on reading through
the help this may be a PRO extension to the license. Is this correct? Can
this be worked around? Am I doing something wrong (possible I suppose)?

Can I upgrade to PRO?

Thoughts and solutions welcomed.

Looking at their web page, that is a navigation software than can be run on a PC or Pocket PC. It comes in several versions with different kinds of maps (additional maps can be purchased) so the maps are probably in a proprietary format and can only be used on a single device.

What did you buy and what is the GPS unit you mention?

Normally, you would be running the Memory Map software on a PC or PPC with the GPS receiver connected via a serial or USB port. The Memory Map software would be using the NMEA data from the GPS (a continuing series of position reports, updated as you move) to place and update a location marker on a map displayed on the PC/PPC.
