I can see why Garmin all of a sudden goes for the more sensitive SiRF
Star III chipset now. This dedicated unit from Globalsat with the
added flexibility as an mp3 and movies viewer will be a clear winner in
dedicated units for those who would prefer out-of-box convenience.
Still uncertain is the price, choice of software and the seemingly weak
Samsung S3C2410 266Mhz processor.
Looks formidable.
Anyone looking for dedicated unit should wait if they do not want to go
for the ppc format . Or they should look for the first wave of new
European smartphone gps unit.
A lot to happen in the next few months.
