Bitstring <MPG.1d9512f264fc931a98b428@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, from the wonderful person Colin Wilson <void@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> said
I am creating a software program that deals with weight loads on buildings. The bay spacing is dependent on the distance the building (or town or city) is from the ocean.
The quickest way might be a good old fashioned paper atlas and a compass - pin one end at the town you want, the other to the most visibly obvious bit of coast - then simply spin it around to see if you were right (and if not, adjust accordingly).
Then simply measure the distance from the scale on the map :-}
Plus there's this problem of what's Ocean and what isn't .. I mean does the English Channel count? The Mediterranean? How far up the Rhine or the Thames before it isn't? How about the Severn Estuary, or the mouth of the Amazon??
