Sorry, you're right - but version 7 should be out shortly. Garmin uses
the same NavTeq maps for MetroGuide, CitySelect, and City Navigator.
They've already issued version 7 of CitySelect/Navigator so the new
version of MetroGuide shouldn't be far behind. I was recently looking
at version 7 of CitySelect and had forgotten that MetroGuide doesn't
yet have that update.
2) What's the difference between roads/recreation and metroguide?? Is
one better than the other?
Roads & Recreation is a much older and now discontinued set of maps.
It was based on the Census Bureau's TIGER maps from almost 10 years ago
which weren't very accurate then and are now seriously out of date.
It does have the advantage of covering more area in a given amount of
memory, but lacks many of the features of MetroGuide: no auto-routing
on your PC, no address/street/intersection lookup, no business POIs
like restaurants/hotels/libraries/gas stations/etc. It does have some
POIs like schools and parks, but not nearly the variety of MetroGuide.
I could see using it on a Legend due to the very small 8 MB memory, but
for the Vista I'd definitely recommend MetroGuide instead.
