Re: OS map To LL - where is the top left of a map.

I went there a couple of days ago any good find nothing which I could read
number off (do you have a link to a particular page ?) The best I could find
has numbers of a too small resolution to read.

My libray tecnhque isn't too bad. I've done 100 maps in 20 minutes so far.
Another 100 tomorrow, and it is only just around the corner from work !

The response I got from OS customer service was :

"
In each corner of a Landranger map are the relevant two letters used in a
grid reference. You will then need to take the relevant two digits from along
the top of the map and then the relevant two digits from down the side of
the map.Together these will indicate the required grid square, where the
lines intersect, and relate to the bottom left hand corner of the grid
square. To make a six-figure reference, the grid square needs to be divided
into tenths.

As this is not the easiest of subjects to explain, if you would kindly
provide us with your address/postcode details, we will send you a National
Grid map reference system booklet, which fully explains how the grid
references are constructed.
"

I don't think he understood my question..
