You're much better off with a PDA, if you want the real-deal USGS data.
MapSend for Magellan has a similar product to the USGS topos, but it is
necessarily dumbed down.

Bluetooth to a PDA with a moving-map display will let you convert and import
your own USGS data and use it with your GPS.
