I apologize in advance for asking a question that I'm sure has been asked
and answered frequently in this newsgroup--but, I would appreciate any
opinions on the Garmin 2720 vs. Magellan 760 for use in an automobile only.
I've found both units priced at $749 plus tax and shipping and I've read
some reviews of both. Nothing I've read so far has swayed me in one
direction or the other. Both unit's displays would appear to be quite
readable in bright sunlight (which is not the case with the Garmin C330 I am
about to return) and both seem to have very comparable features. I've read
that the window mount on the Magellan is not very stable. I've also read
that having the speaker in the Garmin's power cord is not very desirable.
The Magellan's display appears to be larger given the "split screen"
approach used by Garmin on the 2720. The Magellan's street pronunciation
can be very unclear but I haven't read any opinions on the 2720
pronunciation. Again, any opinions would be helpful.
