Not the problem, that's the easy bit - reinstalling the Marine POI file.

However, installing it alongside other data is more tricky.

Doesn't work for Etrex, 60-series and 72-series devices (i've tried).
Its intended for different families of Garmin products. The webpage lists
the products which will support it on the left.

The Vista-C has 24Mb of memory. Unless after very large volumes of maps,
this should be adequate for a hand held device.
The problem with CN (North America) is, I guess, that the tiles are large
(perhaps 10Mb each), so there is only room for one or two in the device at a
time, whereas smaller tiles would allow a more selective approach to be
taken ? North American street mapping is also academic to me as I live in
the UK.

Because its USB, the old problem of taking half an hour to upload maps
(which the original Vista and Legend suffered) has gone away.

Sorry, been there and thought of the idea. As I've got a Vista-C, I could
try it out and confirm that it doesn't work :-(

For me, I don't care about the Marine POI file, except as an academic
problem of loading it alongside other data.
