http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsmap60csx/ about $600. An update to
the currently available 60cs. Has ability to add other memory
cards/expand memory capacity. Also, supposedly has a more sensitive
receiver antenna.
Some degree of water proofing is recommend for the jungle and wet
outdoor treks.
Getting a GPS with the required port to attach an external amplified
antenna makes a bid difference, useful in a car or when heading to
places with overhead tree canopy/reduced sky view, for improved
satellite lock/reception. Thick overhead canopy or reduced sky view, in
canyons can block out most of the sat signal, reducing GPS functionlity
quite a bit.
