Yes, better display, easier to mark your current location, text to
speech and easier to navigate menu system. I can only think of three things
that could be considered better on the 2610 and that's the voice and the
2610 you can make the tabs disappear off the map screen with a touch of the
screen. On the 2720 you have to go to the menu to shut the tabs off however
I never turned the tabs off in the time that I used the 2610. The other
thing that could be a benefit to the 2610 is used CF memory cards so you
basically can have unlimited memory whereas the 2720 is locked to about
750MB of extra memory for additional map storage.
