I wanted to play the Google Earth Tour of the Amgen Tour of California bike
race as it went through stage two, near where I used to live.
But I don't know how to control the tour.
http://www.amgentourofcalifornia.com/Route/map/stage2map.html
has a link for "Google Earth Route" near the top of the map.
That opens Google Earth, and I can play the tour from Martinez to San Jose.
I'm interested primarily in the area around Calaveras and Sierra Road.
I tried "pause" a couple of times, to let the map finish streaming, but
then "play" restarts the tour in Martinez.
I don't know how to go to a portion of the tour and pick up there.
The online help isn't much help.
It's a bug. Last month it took me 4 emails of increasing forcefulness
to get GE Support to even look at the issue, much less admit it was a
bug. Here's an extract from their final email:
"Currently, it appears that pause and restart works properly when
running a tour from placemark to placemark. There is a known error
with pausing and resuming in tour mode and we thank you for taking the
time to notify us with your concern."
