What "bugs" are you speaking of? They could, in fact, be "by design".
If you spelled them out, those of us with the same unit would understand
better.

I was talking about the quality of support, not wanting to go into
specifics, but if you like, here's one:

As an example:

Quest bug report:

In the Map Setup, you can select
the 'Hide Above' size for most things.

However, for the "My Locations" category,
if the "Hide Above" setting is set
to "AUTO", the "My Locations" are
never hidden, even when you zoom
out to the maximum level.
(The 'Detail Level' is set to 'Normal')

Thus, the screen is cluttered even
at a scale of 200 miles.

Response from Garmin:

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe Support.

What "auto" means is that it will Automatically
display the location at all zoom levels. if you want
the location not to be displayed, you have to set
the unit to a specified distance, This will then
make the waypoint disappear at the zoom level..

If you have any further queries please don't
hesitate to contact us again.

Need I say more?

Hm, to me that sounds exactly as what I would expect. You can either set
the display level manually, giving you control, or with auto you use the
default value for that category. What you are displeased with is that
the default for the custom waypoint category is maximum zoom out.

You could ask for a feature that lets you specify your default per
waypoint. I would heartily support such a request and I think that
Garmin would give such a request serious consideration. But I think that
the behaviour of your GPS is indeed what Garmin intended auto to mean.

And if I would have to choose a single default value for all the custom
points I think I would go for the maximum zoom out. (No, on second
thought I concede that a 50 km would be better. Nevertheless, I would
not consider this a bug.)
