So I wonder if the Quest will be as satifying in an auto environment for
permanent (vs. occasional) use.
I've been using a Quest (and Quest 2 now) since they were available in
Europe. Mostly in the car, but also hiking, occasional biking and
inside commercial airplanes.
I also once had the opportunity to use the 2610 alongside the Quest 2
in my car.
The Quest (2) is absolutely fine for in-car use. If the display glares
a little you can either turn up the backlight a bit (mine is normally
at 50%) of tilt the Quest a little. The 2610 is a bit more bulky but
also very nice, although I like the Quest formfactor more. =8-)
If you consider a Quest, you might find my Quest FAQ & HowTo pages
interesting to read beforehand: www.elsinga.net/questfaq .
