Many thanks Craig and Dominic for explaining that OS maps Lat/Long
don't use WSG84 datum. I was able to rotate my map image so that
Lat/Long is parallel to the page, then used the cursor readout to
calibrate the map with the Lat/Long readings corresponding to OS grid
intersections. However, uploaded waypoints are still not right because
the shareware version doesn't allow anything other than WGS84. No doubt
I could convert the OS Lat/Long to WGS84 to calibrate the map as
Dominic suggests, but then the cursor readout would not correspond to
the map grid - too much confusion.

Ozi has 2 versions before registering. The one you have reported about and
the 'Trial' version, that stops running after an hour. I've use the 'Trial'
version to evaluate the NASA satellite earth views for not only the whole of
the UK but the whole of Europe and North Africa.

This version will allow the selection the OS datum and has the following
limitations (taken from the start-up display):-

* Cannot communicate with GPS for upload/download
* Cannot Save or Load Waypoints or Events
* Will only run for 1 hour continuous
* Cannot save map image to Bitmap file

From what I've seen of Ozi, I will be registering it when I get round to it.

Incidentally my registered GarTrip works very well with OS maps using the
OSGB36 datum. If I remember correctly, it also worked with OSGB36, before I
registered.

All my waypoints are spot on, without any noticeable error.

My opinion is that good shareware programs that once registered, work with
_all_ newer versions, are well worth supporting. Unlike those that need an
extra registration to work with a newer version.

What I would like, however, is a utility program, that will produce a
'calibration' file for all selected programs from just one program's
'calibration' file. Recalibrating for every program is a bit of a chore!
