Re: Garmin GPSMAP 76CX PC Connectivity



Thank you all for the replies. I did join the 76CS Yahoo group and
have been studying their FAQs. I've pretty much decided on the 76CX.
I don't think I'll need the barometric altimeter or the electronic
compass.

Also ordered the National Geographic TOPO State series for Arizona. So
far it seems its file formats are supported by more apps like GPSBabel,
WinGDB and so forth. At the time I bought the Backroads Explorer
software I didn't think I'd need or want detail better than 1:100,000
for off-roading, but now I can see how the 1:24,000 detail will come in
handy, at least when plotting tracks and waypoints on digital maps. I
know Garmin's software doesn't get that detailed, but that's OK.
