New to the list... so Hi<snip>
I've just got a GPS MAP60CSx for on (motorbike) and off road use.
Most of it seems to work great.
However, when I down load a route from mapsoruce, select it and
Navigate ... the 60CSx insists on re-calculating! There's no menu
option to avoid this... is it just me? am I missing something?
I suppose it assumes that you want to navigate from the current fix to the first waypoint in the route and runs the route calculations to do that. What it needs is a capability for you to tell it to commence navigation at one of the waypoints in the route. If you could do that, you could choose the first waypoint and it maybe it would take you to there and then follow your route.
On my Meridian, that is how I can start navigating somewhere in the route other than the first waypoint. I view the waypoints in the route, cursor down to the one I want to start with, press the Goto button, and it navigates that waypoint the the rest of the route.
I'm going to try that on my 76Cx the next time I use it. Maybe that will work there too.
