Hi to all,
I am using a Magellan 315 in a mobilhome and wonder if it possible
entering lat and long of a satellite (as a waypoint) so if shows it's
direction at all times making it easier tuning in as my sat dish is
manual operated. I am interested in Astra 2 and Hotbird.
Many thanks.
Yes. Just input waypoints with zero latitude and the longitude of the
satellites you're interested in
Astra 2 0 deg Lat, 28 degrees East Lon
Hotbird 0 deg Lat 13 degrees East Lon
The GPS should give you the bearing to the satellite directly if you set it
as the destination. You don't get elevation directly but you can calculate
it from the GPS distance to destination.
Remember the GPS won't provide your own heading unless moving so you might
still need a compass to point the dish.
.
