It will not update your standstill time when it's off, but the various
values will pick up from where you left them.

You can "almost" turn the screen off by setting the backlight down to
0%.

Cars like mine, which turn off the outlet when you take the key to the
0 position, will not keep the unit running, of course.

One annoying thing (perhaps), is that if you have the unit powered, but
turned it off, as off as it goes, then it will still have the handsfree
active, but you can't use it, since the loudspeakers will not work.
