Garmin iQue 3600 failure

My Garmin iQue failed last week for the third time. Palm and Que
functions working fine except that it won't receive any satellites,
this is the same failure as the previous two times, however this time
it is past the warrantee period.
I'm considering a few options and would like some advice.
The previous two times Garmin diagnosed the problem as an antenna
failure. I'm pondering buying an external GPS antenna for the iQue, any
recommendations?
I have a Palm Tungsten E from before my iQue. I also have an Garmin
12XL. Is there any kind of cable/adapters to connect the Tungsten USB
port to the Garmin 12XL data port? If so, do people have
recommendations for routing/navigation software for the Tungsten?
Finally I'm considering a bluetooth GPS and a new Palm with Bluetooth.
Comments?
