Carl, obvious I'm a greenie on all this.. what do you mean that the load
routing is grayed out? Is that something built into the 76 or NT? For

this 'grayed out' get in the way?
Thanks for taking the time to help educate me..

When you are downloading maps from MapSource into a GPS, there's a check box
in the bottom left corner of the MapSource display about whether to include
routing data. This is grayed out when you're downloading NT because it's
already built in to the NT version. If you're not downloading NT and want to
include routing data, you have to check the box. I've been given to
understand that this speeds route calculations on routing GPSR's. But I've
also been given to understand that it takes space.
For NT versions, it's my understanding, don't know if it's actually true, that
by doing this, Garmin is saving space on the GPS and, to me, makes it seem
that an NT map set processes faster. But that might also be attributed to the
larger (thus fewer) map segments being downloaded for the same surface area.
This is not supported by anything more than my guessing at what I see. Perhaps
some of our resident experts can verify.
