Trimble GeoXT +external antenna

Hi,

Has anyone used a Trimble GeoXT with an external antenna OR laser
scanner to improve gps prescision???
We are working in a built-up area with tall buildings & trees!!!

Trimble offer a 1.5 or 5 m antenna.
Has anyone tested the difference a 1.0m to a 2.0 m pole on back
- to see if more satellites picked up & lower PDOP?????
