What I want to do?Microsoft, DeLorme and others sell a USB GPS device with mapping
I need a GPS unit through which I can download the data real-time
i.e. longitude/latitude/speed etc to a laptop.
My questions
a) Which is the cheapest solution i.e. Magnellan 6000t is what Best
Buy recommends. Is there anything cheaper than this.
b) Do I have to purchase another software?
c) If I am travelling in a car, the usb cable from the gps would
plugin to my laptop. Is that correct?
thanks
software for from $100.00 upwards. If you buy last year's software,
you might get it for even less. The whole world does not change its
geography in one year. It is a waste of a standalone GPS device to
connect it to a computer except occasionally. If you already have a
standalone device, use it. You should not buy an expensive
standalone unit solely to run tethered to a computer.
Would love to see this mapping GPS for $100. Must be out of touch.
