Re: Garmin GPS 18 USB with Pocket PC 2002. Need PPC driver.

Maybe you right, maybe not. I don't know. I think I can plug in other USB
devices into this docking station, thigs like USB Flash Drives etc. I'll try
that out and post it here.

If I do need a USB host, woudn't Prolific (not sure if I spell it correctly.
I think USBSER.dll is the file that gets installed) do the job?

My understanding is that the GPS 18 is a USB client and your PPC is a
USB client whereas one device needs to be a USB host.

Hi there.
I'm trying to figure out how to use Garmin 18 with my Toshiba e550g Pocket
PC 2002. I have a usb port in PPC's docking station, but when I plug GPS
in
it doesn't recognise it (obviously) and asking for device name.
Garmin doesn't have Pocket PC drivers for this GPS. I tried driver pharos
is
using (Prolific or sometihng), but coudn't get that to work since I don't
know what Prolific device name would be.

Any help would be appriciated. I love this Garmin GPS, but need to use it
with PPC.

Thanks.
