@j44g2000cwa.googlegroups.com:
hi all,
i am looking for any anecdotal recommendations on a sub $500 automobile
GPS. the Garmin Streetpilot C530 or Magellan Roadmate 3050T seem to
strike a good compromise between features and price. i have perused the
newsgroups and done some online research, so i am basically just asking
if anybody has a unit that they really like (or conversely, wish they
hadn't bought).
thanks!
alex

Mio 310x is interesting -- $150 [with rebate] on black friday, $200 [no
rebate] a few times since. USA maps + POI pre-loaded, voice routing, mp3
player, SD slot, antenna doesn't need to be flipped up, nice car mount, car
and ac chargers. Freeware poi editor links with Google earth, freeware
skins offer additional functionality, maps on flash, track export to Google
earth, etc.
.
