I am a long time user of Garmin GPSs on my bicycle, I was quoted for
Bicycle magazine in 1999 about my gps use

The third Garmin I have owned, Quest 1 is still in use on my bicycle,
uploading tracks and downloading routes to my computer. However, changing
the setup for car use and back to bicycle is a hassle.
Seeing a Liteon 100 at

for 195 dollars caught my interest. apparently a closeout, none are left
currently. I bought one and is very happy with it. My only disappointment
is that the on/off switch isn't control by the car switch. The unit has a
reachable battery suggest for 10 hours without backlight use. I am
considering hacking it into my dash. After I find an adapter for my
Gilsson antenna.
The Liteon 100 has North America local streets preloaded. In setup either
U.S. Canada or Mexico is selected. When bicycle is selected as vehicle,
highways are "X" out. A list of turns are available and via can be used. I
haven't use this features yet. All route I have programmed, including a
Philadelphia PA to St. Petersburgs, FL. are the same as route I uses. The
voice prompts and the visual sight of the next road to turn into at night,
is worth it uses on routes that I know.
The MP3 feature in the Liteon and the new Subaru is prompting me to
convert my 33 & 1/3 vinyl record to MP3.

Our local food supermarket, Pathmark, have in its flyer starting tomorrow, a
Support Plus GPS, 3.5 screen for 199.99 dollars. I expect to see lower
prices soon.
