Magellan SporTrak problem

I lost mine (uh, my SportTrak I mean) soon after buying it two years
ago, during a move. I just found it and it now has a problem, It
acquires sats normally, but the clock moves forward at 10x speed. This
causes or is related to a slow but consistent drift in the coordinates,
I supposed the former to be a software problem, but I can't reload the
firmware; Magellan now calls it a "Legacy Product" and won't even
provide the firmware files anymore. (Good reason not to buy their
products?)
Anyone have the firmware (It has 4.06 now) and can send it to me? I
have seen some maps cheap but won't buy any if I can't fix this
problem.
How about mods? Like improving the antenna? Preamp?
