I can't see how it is any bigger a headache than any other year.
I never had any of these devices that adjusted for daylight savings time.
In fact I would be very surprised if any such device would adjust for
daylight savings. It would have to store the full date, a table of dates
for untold number of years and a setting to adjust for DST or not.

Also the device would have to know where it is located. For example, the
time zone is Pacific Standard Time. OK, switch to DST. Oops, actually we
are in Arizona, no DST. Ooops, actually in the Navaho Nation, switch to
DST. (don't know why those yahoos from AZ can't see the light)
