I am hoping to get some clarification on the following questions:Yes, except for some automotive units.
1) Is the B&W eTrex Legend (and all other Garmin WAAS capable units) capable of receiving and processing Differential GPS signals?
2) If so, will these units process DGPS signals regardless of WAAS status (i.e., enabled or disabled)?
Unknown. Generally I believe DGPS input will override the WAAS setting.
DGPS or WAAS (Egnos) specific corrections are being used on that satellites signal.
3) Does the "D" designation inside the satellite reception bars (on the Satellite page) refer to reception of DGPS signal, WAAS signal, or something else?
4) What is the difference between the gray bars and the black bars on the "Satellite" page? Is it "better" to have a stronger gray bar than a weaker black bar? Why or why not?
Black means that that signal is being used for the satellite fix. It has ephemeris data. WAAS satellites can sometimes also be used for the satellite fix and in this case their signal will also show black. They may be used for corrections even if their signal is not being used as part of the GPS solution.
The second question is non-sense. As is the third.
