Re: Need help picking out a new Garmin.

Well, I am not familiar with the eMap ... I have just replace my GPS V
with a Street Pilot 2720, yup a discontinued model so it is going rather
cheap. I think it will do all the things that you want and none of the
things you don't want!. Only problem I have is that it has no battery power
therefore only really runs in a car. They do provide an AC adapter for
computer use though.

I had a Garmin eMap that I LOVED, especially the trip computer part.
I have lost it and was considering getting a new Garmin GPS.

The selection is bewildering at best now. :-(

I am pretty sure I will go with one of the nuvi models but which one?
I want something that has the features that the eMap had.
I am no so much worried about mp3 playback and using it at a bluetooth
handsfree device either.
I just want a good replacement for my eMap.

Can anyone in the group help me with a decision?

Tell us what the features you want are, like multiple destination
routing, track recording, being able to do planning on a PC and upload
routes and waypoints, etc.

I need multiple destination routing, track recording, planning on PC
( Mac would be preferred )
upload routes and waypoints from PC ( Mac would be preferred ) like I
used to be able to do with the Metroguide software.
I need the trip computer ( avg moving time/speed, max speed, distance
traveled, etc)
I really liked the size of the eMap as well. A bigger screen would be
nice, but the form factor of the eMap was almost perfect.

Some of the newer models do not have all the same navigation features
that were on the older ones. They are prettier, play music, and take
phone calls though. :>)

I don't really care about mp3 playback or bluetooth hands free or
watching movies or anything like that.
