I found the data, and made a backup before un-installing the app. Then I
(re-)installed GE again, and now it runs without errors.
Funny thing was that the un-install (remove) didn't really remove all
files in the GE directory. Number of dll's as well as some shortcuts (in
the start/program menu) were left untouched.
The GE applicaton may be lots of fun to run, but somehow it doesn't feel
such high quality app after I saw what the removal process did (and
particularly: what it didn't do).
I agree. Lots of rough edges. And somewhat disorganised support and
response to bug reports. But I *love* the application! Particularly
now that the UK database has just got a lot better: the car shown in
my drive is no longer the one I sold 9 years ago ;-)
